Minister Asks Public to Report Weak Cell Phone Service

PHNOM PENH: Minister of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia, Chea Vandeth, has instructed the public to alert the Ministry of Posts of any failure of cell phone service so that they can take action against weak phone service providers.

Through an audio message on the Public Officials Telegram Channel on July 19, Chea Vandeth said, "Wherever there is no telephone service, you can complain to the Ministry and the Ministry will call the company and then everyone will see it."

He emphasized that the ministry had issued a declaration on the quality of mobile and internet services, giving companies eight months to improve the quality of its telecommunications services.

He said that from now on, the Ministry of Posts will fine any company that does not improve the quality of its telecommunications services.
